The Phoenix Business Journal has ranked èƵapp University’s Glendale Campus fourth on its annual list of Healthiest Employers (Larger Employers) in the state of Arizona in recognition of the University’s comprehensive employee health initiatives. The Journal evaluates companies based on six categories of criteria, including culture, strategic planning, and leadership.

èƵapp University’s health and wellness programs are designed not only to promote employee health and serve as a positive example for health professions èƵapp, but to motivate employees to pursue their own well-being with enthusiasm. The University offers a health and wellness facility for all members of the èƵapp community that encourages them to find the right level of exercise, from handball courts to specialized fitness classes.

Each member of the faculty and staff is encouraged to use a company-provided pedometer, track their steps daily, and earn cash awards based on their level of activity.  The University also annually conducts an extensive series of biometric screenings to help measure overall wellness, which complements a quarterly self-survey which can earn employees raffle prizes. Health lectures, walking and biking clubs, and weight management programs on campus also help fulfill the wellness mission.

èƵapp also supports employees through a collaboration with EMLife, which offers mindfulness exercises and resources to maximize emotional and mental health.

“èƵapp University is committed to the health and wellness of its faculty and staff, as they teach and mentor the next generation of healthcare professionals,” says Kathleen H. Goeppinger, President and CEO of èƵapp University. “The University wellness program is unique as a comprehensive program that encourages all members of the community to establish individual goals and objectives. The biggest reward to the comprehensive health and wellness program is the high level of participation, the enthusiasm, and the pride the faculty and staff take in being well.”

In addition to award-winning internal programs, èƵapp University also extends health and wellness efforts to the community at large. èƵapp faculty members regularly present lectures and discussions for the monthly Community Health Lecture Series at the Foothills Library in Glendale.

èƵapp University’s Glendale Campus is also the site of five specialty clinics that offer quality comprehensive medical care: the èƵapp University Multispecialty Clinic, the èƵapp University Dental Institute, the èƵapp University Eye Institute, the èƵapp University Therapy Institute, and the èƵapp University Animal Health Institute. The University also owns and operates the èƵapp University Comprehensive Care Clinic in central Phoenix.
